De functie / The role

The primary focus of this role is to drive and execute the Logistics Strategy for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) to deliver the best product, best service and the best experience to our customers at the lowest cost. The candidate will contribute to the delivery of the EMEA business plan and targets in close alignment with Market Leads and the Global Logistics EMEA Lead through the successful implementation and management of Logistics Programs and Projects in EMEA. The role will also be responsible for developing capabilities and initiatives to support Logistics performance over a multi-year horizon including the deployment of Logistics processes and enablers from Global to Local.

Key Accountabilities:

Implement and execute the Logistics strategy that supports and meets the EMEA market strategy, performance objectives, customer expectations & sustainability ambitions

Lead, drive and deploy Global Logistics initiatives and programs in EMEA to ensure effective implementation in local markets

Build and maintain relationships within the EMEA Logistics community to ensure an effective and target oriented collaboration

Create and manage routines to ensure that business planning cycles are in place to develop/deploy required functional and technical capabilities

Establish a project management framework to support the Logistics Performance Delivery by making full use of the Project Management Tool Box

Build effective and engaged global Communities of Practice in the EMEA markets

Provide input on EMEA needs to Global Logistics functions and Centres of Excellence and ensure rapid implementation of global solutions

Ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of personnel in the team

Het profiel / Your profile

University level degree in Business or Engineering is required – with MBA preferred.

7+ years of supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions

Background in FMCG a must

Demonstrated ability of leading change management in matrix organizations

Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution

Must have the ability to interact at various levels of the company (managing up and down)

An acute sense of business management and administration

A strong and dedicated understanding towards the Group and customers’ needs

The ability to turn thought into action with a strong bias for action

Must be able to flex leadership styles based on the situational need to maximize output

Operations experience is an asset

Experience in managing multi-national teams is an advantage

Logistics Certifications such as those in Six Sigma, Operations or Inventory Management a plus
